key code

Featured Replies

well my one and only remote packed up last week, replaced battery and still no luck, it opens and closes with the key in the lock and the key starts the car.

So I bought VCDS as its gonna get used loads in my house with four vw/skoda's but I need the key code 4/5 digits to reprogramme the key, where is the code as I was told it would be in the owners handbook but its not there??

help much appreciated please

the key is a 2 part system

key and transponder = required to start the car

remote = just used for unlocking & locking

You need to re adapt the remotes

use address 46 and go to adaptions

channel 00 to clear

channel 01 to adapt, change value to the actual number of remotes (2x remotes = 2)

test and save

press unlock button on both remotes within a few seconds

Are you trying to code a new key (including immobilzer) or rematch the remote control?

If it's the latter, you don't need the SKC.

If you don't have the SKC and need it, you will have to pay someone with the correct tools to extract the code for you (VCDS cannot do this). The dealer doesn't get (or need) to see the SKC when programming a new key.

Im just trying to re match the remote on the key, but on vcds it asks for the key code which i don't have.

You dont need any codes, follow the post above by Eddie to match the remotes.

You need to re adapt the remotes

use address 46 and go to adaptions

channel 00 to clear

channel 01 to adapt, change value to the actual number of remotes (2x remotes = 2)

test and save

You must erase all the programmed keys including the one working one and start from scratch, so make sure you have both keys handy.

Will give it another go tonight, only got one key though.

You can purchase that part, but without the SKC for your car then you'll need to transfer the immobiliser transponder chip from your existing key to this one. Then code as per above post. Otherwise you'll need to get the dealer to code the key to the car.
