Brake booster line split

Featured Replies

Has anyone got a diagram of the brake booster vacuum system on a vRS? I've got a split on the pipe that runs from the booster module along the back of the bay and then joins the pipe going to the inlet manifold. It's split on the join between the two pipes.

Doesn't have a part number on it.

Cheers

Sounds exactly where mine is split, except mine is still sealing at the moment...

Got a pic of it? At 144k I think I better check mine out lol

pm me, i have one of these for sale in good condition!

Replace with some proper brake vacuum line around £8 for a metre and run it around other side of engine keeps it away from heat and won't fail again

Mine is split on my TDI. Looks like a right pig to change as it runs around the back of of the engine bay behind some heat shields.

That's exactly where mine has gone! Seems like the tension of having a joint forced into it has made it split.

Clive, it's lasted over 10 years, and apparently is only about 25 quid from the dealer, might as well stick with the OEM part. Looked at silicon hose too, but it will end up being massive in diameter because of the extra reinforcement needed.

Yeah agree I change it as when pushing larger turbos or hybrids it will melt that pipe ;-)

And a replacement brake servo pipe from local parts place is around £6 ;-)
