Aircon not working

Featured Replies

Hi to all I think my air con not working any more , no engine loud when is on, no cold air. I read a few topics about it but have question anyway. My car is out of warranty for couple of month so who can fix the air on in propa way, Indy???? How can I find what is gone exactly, computer drop some fault code for aircon? Thanks

My car is 2 yrs and 4 months old and I've just had to take it to a dealer to have the air-con looked at for the 3rd time as it keeps loosing the gas. The 1st time they did it for free, 2nd time they charged me £80 as they said there was no fault with it and was chargeable due to being a consumable item, and they told me I wasn't using it enough. I was convinced there was a fault with it so I made a complaint to Skoda CS but only got £40 goodwill payment. One year on, I've used it at least 15 mins every week but all the gas has gone again. I tried another dealer as I lost faith in the previous one, now I've been told the compressor is faulty and will be replaced under warranty. Think I'll have to speak to CS to get the other £40 back now!

How can I claim anything if the car out of warranty already ? My mileage is 64k so not covered even by 3 years up to 60K

I was just saying about all the problems I've had getting mine fixed even under warranty.

Why don't u get some quotes for testing/regassing from dealer, Indy, Kwik Fit, specialist air con firms, etc.

Will do this week, I just found today the aircon stop working Thank you for respond anyway

Compressor failure?? Known fault!

Dave

Sounds like there's lots of air con related faults on these cars!!

Mines going in tomorrow to have a new condenser fitted.

Re. compressor being a known potentially faulty item. My Aircon failed due to leaking condenser which was replaced under warranty. They also replaced the compressor at the same time???

On my old Octavia I had no end of problems with leaks on the system. This was never under waranty and I manged to find an independant local outfit with a good reputation.

Had mine in last week - dealer said they found hole in the radiator (probably stone chip) and the compressor had to be replaced. 2010 Elegance 1.9TDI.

Why you never mention the price if the repair done out of warranty? Is the condenser build in in main radiator? My radiator badly bitten by stone chips just right under the tumber plate grill, in same time the cooling system works good , no loosing coolant etc

I bought the car from the company but front radiator is bitten by stone chips, where they were use the car i have no idea.
