Rear anti roll bar

Featured Replies

I'm currently in the early stages of acquiring / refurbing Audi TT front suspension and steering rack. Now this will improve handling but big worry is the rear will be to soft has anyone done this conversion and if so what is it like and have you changed the rear roll bar for a thicker item

Hi I have full TT/R32 front end. Combined with Neuspeed 28 mm RARB set on the medium setting. It's awesome. Check out my build thread for full details.

when you say front suspension , what parts.

Subframe is the same, so guess you mean wishbones, hubs , rack. This is quite a common upgrade now and a few folks have done this including me. VRS benefits from a better feel of front end handling especially if car is lowered. Also if you are using the close ratio TT rack steering is better to.

The VRS would benefit from a RARB even without the TT front end, but fit the parts mentioned would benefit further form a RARB fitted.

something like a Whiteline 24mm is a good start

If you are adding a bigger FARB , something like a Golf R32 23mm then you can go bigger on the Rear too something upwards of a 25mm or 28mm Neuspeed. Great combination

If you are fitting TT front struts not sure these are any different to the VRS actually, but springs maybe different poundage so might not actually be a good idea to fit them. Although i think I saw somewhere they were exactly the same

Yes fitting the lower arms with defcon inserts and hub carriers and rack but suspension not a issue as have coilovers which obviously share some similarities with the TT

I ran R32 front end with camber adjuster bushs with standard rear anti roll bar for over a year until i got a eibach 25mm rear bar,

I even did my first trackday like that and it was ok

Ok , yep good choice.....I don't have the defcon inserts , think these make the later MK 1 TT arms same as the early MK1 TT that had smaller front bushes. I do have the rear castor adjustment bushes though and they are great

Should help the front end. Oh right who does them? May have to look into them. What bushes are people using? So many different types have heard powerflex are god but am using it as a daily and needs some form of comfort

Bushes won't make it a hard ride, so don't worry about that none. Powerflex seem to have a bit of a bad rep around these parts. Perfectly happy with my Superpro stuff, nearly two years on...

I would go Superpro bushes

example of the front control arm kit you will need to TT arms...

or this kit if you want castor angle adjustment like i have

+1 vote for the SuperPro castor angle adjustment bushes.

Got this with the TT hubs/arms with camber adjustment. Coilovers. R32 FARB and Neuspeed 28mm RARB.

SUCH an improvement. The RARB made the biggest difference

just be careful with snap oversteer....great fun if u know its coming :giggle: but in the wet for the first time I nearly stained the seats going round a roundabout

I found it out 2 days after I fitted my rarb, on a dry road joining a duel carriageway, luckily it was 6 in the morning as I did a 180 in the middle of the carriageway. Funnily enough I haven't managed to do it again despite being silly at times lol
