Evening folks,

My windscreen is getting replaced as a stress fracture has developed from underneath the scuttle panel and is working its way up the windscreen (had the windscreen replaced previously by National Windscreens as there was a leak due to the sealant not being fully applied in one area....)

Currently the windscreen installed has the sunstrip and encapsulation around the perimeter (the windscreen which they previously put in) and I am wanting the same one as this. However they (National Windscreens) say they don't supply and can't get the windscreen with the encapsulation on it.......... is this true as I phoned Autoglass and they have one!!

Basically I would like to see a windscreen with and without the encapsulation to see the difference then I can make my mind up as to which one to go for. Has anyone got any pics that they could show me??

They have different accounts with different glass suppliers (at least on the commercial side), it's quite possible one can get something the other can't/won't. As to encapsulation a previous thread suggests it changed mid production.

I see, but the overall look of the windscreen without the encapsulation, is it noticeable or does it look weird/funny?? Does the encapsulation not hide the joints etc underneath??

I'm happy to go with whatever but would like to know how its gonna look ya know.

They should replace like for like are you going through insurance or warrenty work from previous replacement. As I had this with the proton I used to wn replaced due to a chip which cracked. Auto glass replaced but took two tris as brought one with wrong colour tint. Replaced with a faulty screen glass was de laminating came to replace again same fault. They then ad to order a genuine screen from proton which had to be shipped from Malaysia.

Without sunvisor etc
