For those that don't know; Denis was like the Uber Mod, the one people turned to when **** got serious! Hence the name.. Big Dawg, which i think came from Dog the Bounty Hunter. I could be wrong.

Or could it possibly be the Tommy-Lee Jones / US Marshal character in the Harrison Ford version of the film "The Fugitive"?
