whats best for restoring black to trim and bumpers

Featured Replies

hiyaguys wondering what is best to use to bring back black on the exterior plastic bits on my vrs forget what the proper term is was thinking of back to black but wondered if u guys no of anything that is better

If they are faded you could do far worse than use peanut butter or any nut oil. G-techniq c4 would be my recommendation for long term protection :)

Smooth Peanut butter.

As above, eithe Gtechniq C4 for long term or T1 Tyres and trim for four to six months or so is a great cheaper in the short term alternative. Back to Black like several others can leech in the rain leaving streaks down the paint work.

Smooth peanut butter and a nailbrush if very dirty..simples

And no licking

Yes Peanut oil does work ...but its not a long term solution

I find the chemical guys tyre and trim gel is pretty good value for money.

Seems to do a nice enough job. I can't say I'd put peanut butter all over

my car/van. It has a quite a strong smell. :peek:

Linseed oil and it's good for cricket bats as well.

GTechnik C4 didn't work on my bumpers so I removed them and sprayed with Plastidip. Not sure why it didnt work as it worked on all the other exterior plastics.

How odd...It must be the type of plastic

To sav26:

There are many products that will clean up plastic but very few that offer a permanent solution like C4 does

Ive always used meguires endrance tyre gel. Use a sponge to put it on and wipe excess with a rag. It seems to last till my next wash. Found out on my mk2 golf that it worked the best

Auto Smart silicone spray is awesome!

Lasts a while and smells like berrys in a vynal and trim gloss, 'Gloss' depending on how much you wipe off you and use it internaly, externaly rubber seals trims cleaning etc that what we use at work and i use on my car! :D

I got this after hearing some good reviews, but have to say the word 'endurance' is false advertising lol, lasts less than a week for me, I got some dr beasleys plastic conditioner as part of a waxyboxmonthly box and it has been brilliant! lasted ages.

Nothing really does its open to the elements most of the time, i found car pro perl to be fairly decent
