central locking by itsself ?

Featured Replies

hi there, my partner has twice recently locked herself out of her skoda fabia after firstly getting in, starting it up and then getting back out again to do something whilst leaving the engine running, the car appears to lock itsself when the door is shut, has anybody else come across this, is it programmed into the central locking as a safety feature when your driving and can it be un-programmed or have i got gremlins in there ??

She's actually breaking the law by leaving the vehicle unattended with its engine running.

That said, I think there's a fault in the convenience ECU if the car locks itself other than by:-

  1. Locked with remote
  2. Unlocked with remote
  3. No-one opens a door (inc boot) within 60s of (2).

If the keys are in the Ignition the car shouldn't lock even if Zapped with another key fob

hi again, i tried the locking itself again after the first time it did it as my octavia does this, but nothing happened, and i unlocked it by pressing the spare remote fob. i have noticed that it has had another central locking convenience ecu and solenoids fitted as the old ecu is still behind the dash and the old solenoid is taped to the door behind the trim - may have had issues before ??
