Can we have a sticky with where the sockets are please?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Can someone please provide pics or description of where the OBD sockets actually are on the Skoda cars ?

I'm sure I could find it with a bit of effort but no doubt several of you guys/gals have used VAGCOM and it is just the kinda thing that belongs in the VAGCOM forum imho :)

Tnx

I'd guess the port in in the tray under the steering wheel column...above the peddles....well that's where it is on the Octy.:D

In the Fabia, open up the "can holder" to the right of the steering wheel (under the headlight switch). When it's fully open, carry on opening it and it'll click forward to expose the purple 16-pin ODB-II socket. Hard to explain, but you'll see exactly what I mean when you find it ;)

If someone can go out and take some pictures, I'm sure we can make a nice guide out of it.

Well with this info I will grab a snap of mine, assuming two things:

1. My digital camera still has charge in it (should do, but you never know)

2. I have the time to do it before I go home :)

It will be a fairly hi-res pic so will see if I can host it somewhere ;)

The legislation says that it must be within reach of the driver as well.

Legislation for placement of a connector - interesting :)

I would have thought it would be say under the bonnet, isnt there a connector somewhere under the cover (on top of the battery)?

Manufacturers are obliged to conform to the OBDII protocol.

A part of that is, as I said, the connector must be within reach of the driver. I can't find a link at the moment which explains it.

I have a pic on my phone now, but no means of getting it on here. I will get another this evening.

The Octavia's OBD socket is mounted horizontally under the dash on the driver's side.

The Felicia's OBD socket is mounted vertically under the right hand side of the dash on the driver's side. The top of the accelerator and brake pedal assemblies are visible at the bottom left of the photo.

Furby one is on its way - just uploading to my computer as we speak, will push them onto the site in a bit

The new Octaiva's on is by the drivers door at the bottom of the dash. No photo yet as there is no car to get the pic from.

I'm guessing it's roughly the same as in the Furby then

Fabia OBD port is behind the can holder.

Pull the flap down with a little bit of force to expose the OBD port.

No, it's further down and not hidden away. basically you only need to feel at the bottom by the edge with the drivers door to find it.
