Hi All,

Don't know why I do I did not join the forum before as I have loved Vrs' for a long time.

Just wanted to join because I wanted to see what help and advice I could get.

Been thinking of learning about my car. Not mechanically minded. Getting a betting sound system built in. Looked into using a VW Group stereo that's about £1k. Better suspension. Could I lower it!? What tyres I should use.

Of course it's all about funds. I have a partner who is going to be my future wife and is not car car nut. Choices to be made. Work is never definite so money is to used wisely.

Got car chipped with Celtic Tuning. 193 on tap now. Fuel economy is great but when I use my right foot it does shift! When the road allows, of course...

Welcome to Briskoda. You have come to the right place to seek advice about modifying your car. :)

P.S. Is Milton Keanes your personal suburb of Milton Keynes - or a typo? ;)

Hi Denis,

D'oh! Not like me. A typo - woops. Usually good at writing and proof-reading. Must have been the excitement of joining.

On another topic, I keep finding cheaper or alternative all-in-one systems to fit in my motor to replace my standard stereo and 6-disc auto-changer. Mostly checking Halfords and found a JVC KW - AV71BTE AV Receiver. Do you know a good place to get an inexpensive iPod/sat nav/dab radio/Bluetooth fitted. The JVC is 50% off at £399.99 at Halfords. The standard vw group fit Pioneer F9110BT is about a grand. Looks very good but is it worth fitting to a car worth about £3K?
