I know the easy answer is to sit in one and try it..but what do people think about the seats in the new Octavia? I like a lot of support (not a fan of armchairs) such as the ones in my Fabia vRS (and the previous Scirocco) but I notice that currently there isn't a Sports Seats option - maybe when the vRS comes along? Any ex-vRS drivers can comment?

If the ACT engine appears, then I think I'll be going for an SE estate, 1.4 with DSG - at the moment, anyway. As it's only just appeared in the Golf GT (and not the Estate yet), it appears to still be a new engine yet to be rolled out across the whole VAG range for now.

The Skoda Configurator was up and running briefly last week and I did notice an option of sport seats available on the Elegance model. The Configurator went down again shortly after so I don't know if that is available or not now!

See my earlier post noting new build info. Sports seats are a UK option on some models now. Personally I thought the SE and elegance ones were comfy but I didn't do a particularly long journey in them (which is important to me as it'll be seeing 13 hours driving days as the Yeti does now).

I'll be doing the same (ish) - long journeys, although won't be a problem for another 9-12 months for me to plenty of time for the full model range to pan out.. At my current mileage rate, that is (cars changed at 60k; at almost 30k now after nearly 10 months).

Missed the seats option on your build info thread - saw the 1.4 DSG option though which was my main concern! Just looking through the brochure I downloaded yesterday and for some reason, Winter Pack not available on TSI models??? No bum warmer or (more importantly) heated screen for me, then?

I find the all leather seats in the Elegance more comfortable than in my vRS's. I'm not overweight but always found the vRS seats I little tight on bum space!

Absolutely have to agree with this but then I never rated the VRS ones for longer term comfort tbh.

Grabbed a quick minute in an Elegance in the showroom this morning whilst getting the Fabia checked over (after its Belgian engine change) - Alcantara feels very nice and so do the seats, although not as supportive as the ones in Fabia. Think I need to get one for a drive at some point..
