Bucket seats - check, mental paint job - check, silly BHP engine - errr not sure. Load that with a 250 + lump and the jobs a goodun (so they say).

It reminds me of one of the evil charachters from Batman ( Cartoon version) - 2 face , all you need is to see it flipping a coin to decide what it wants to do.

Interior, same seat shape as the normal sports seats with the same fabric design as the Citigo Sport. Like it! Maybe some of these features will be optional in the future on a sport spec model even if the bodykit isn't.

Instead/in addtion to playing with colour patterns, make a 150bhp 2.0CR diesel version and I'll be running to the dealership to order one. Or knowing SUK default pricing/options mode for the Rapid, more likely looking where to import one from with all bells and whistles at 30% discount

I'm not normally a fan of 'loud' interiors, but that's nice :)

Is it the angle of the 1st picture or does that steering wheel look as though it's (slightly) flat bottomed?

If so I like that

Seats need to be coated in Alcantara or cow rear end though.

The steering wheel definitely looks slightly flattened on the bottom.

Everybody always needs more cowbell !

Leather is uncomfortable on long trips and in hot summer. It's only comfortable in winter if you got heated seats. I'd take velour over leather any day (and heated seats work with cloth/velour much faster by the way).

Flat bottom wheel for me!

Looks like a dsg equipped car, wonder what engine lurks inside!!

Fire breathing 2 litre petrol running about 400 bhp......

Ok, I doubt it, but choice of engine is a good question if this does see production - I mentioned earlier in the thread about whether it might have the Fabia VRS lump bit is this going to take customers away from the Fabia? Depends where SUK are pitching the Rapid - above Fabia but below Octavia would suggest it needs more than the Fabia offers, but less than the Octy VRS will have.

I reckon the 1.4 Fabia lump would work well, you'll still get good performance but also extra space over the Fabia.

The Rapid 1.4TSI weighs 82kg less than the Fabia RS too, presume they're the same engine apart from the supercharger?

Yep. My 1.2tsi weighs 140kg less than the fabia vrs I had.

@dieselv6 - you are starting to sound like a broken record now, we get that you think the rapid is overpriced but you don't need to take every thread on this board off topic. it's been discussed at great length before

Funnily enough, I did not expect any discussion on that, merely stated my likely course of action, are you feeling bored and in desperate need for a wind-up?

No I just think everyone is fed up with you judging from various threads on this forum

That looks awesome and I'd buy one with a breath with a decent motor in it. Looks a bit like an RS4!

Looks good.

Same steering wheel as a golf I had last week

Not everyone, just you and several other knowledge-resistant souls.

I still think that skoda should be more proud off their green!

^^^ That's cool. You can get the Rapid in Rallye Green so why not? :)

Shoulda got a green one

  • 2 weeks later...

In most photos the rapid is a good looking car, but in the metal it looks crap and has no road presence at all. I think this is mainly down to the width of the car compared to the length, look at the wheel arches on this though! This small width increse could improve the look on its own without the silly paint job and to quote skoda, "massive 19 inch alloys".
