Skoda Rapid Sport News

Featured Replies

Skoda press release has just been issued along with extra photos:

Škoda Rapid Sport shows off the power of the Skoda design as well as the Rapid's inherent possibilities. The result is a vehicle full of dynamism and sportiness. The vehicle is painted in the metallic colors 'Corrida Red' and 'Steel Gray'. The sports car sits on massive 19" alloy wheels. The front of the vehicle impresses with spoilers and a powerful air intake in the skirt. Generously dimensioned fenders and massive rocker panels underscore the appearance of the vehicle.

Other sporty accents are the rear with a voluminous bumper and two integrated exhaust tailpipes. The rear lights in the 'C'-shaped design typical for the brand show a contrasting color. A circumferential carbon frame completes the bottom section. The sporty layout continues in the interior of the car, for example with a sport-type steering wheel, Recaro seats and illuminated door sills.

This exterior is all well & good, lets get to the £64,000 question.

- What is under the bonnet ????????

A Dsg equipped engine.

Probably just the 1.4T.

Can see a slightly more tame Rapid Sport coming in "real life".. Black pack, xenons with LED drls, 18 in wheels, and the sport interior would be nice.

And i'd have one - shame I just bought this one :)

Early adopters always get shafted.

Way of the world!

There's something distinctly angry looking about that - I like it :)

Bumpers and fenders unlikely I would think. Tailights possibly, xenon lights confirmed (although not sure they'll get the cool DRLs), interior decorative bars yes :)

you got me! the cool DRL's, black paint and projectors are what i like about them.

Better than banging on about Roomster 1.6 CR fuel economy ;)

Skoda have ruled out a VRS version in case anyone was waiting hoping they'd do it. Looks like we'll have to rely on Richard to provide the VRS treatment to his Rapid :giggle:

So we hope for a "Sport" version being added to the model range then. :)

We'll await a sport model or like you say someone to do some tweaks.

Richards looks pretty damn sporty now anyway :)

Indeed. Although at the rate they keep revising the standard equipment list it could just be a case of wait 12 months and the Rapid will look like the 'Sport' by default :giggle:

Think they are missing a trick not going for a vRS rapid partially in the UK....

  • 1 month later...

The rough translation given in Chrome seems to show that they agree with everyone else, that 1.4 TSI needs to be paired with a manual box.

Sounds good in the video though :)
