Featured Replies

well after some thought it might be the end of the fabia as ive been offered a 55 plate passat diesel in black ive kinda had enough of modyfied cars now ..

im 28 going on 40 and had a massive wake up at a meet/show

i was standing talking to the young kids and there conversations i couldnt understand and the words they use are stupid and i feel old

then i went with the older blokes and felt there all sad and need to get a life standing talking about wheels offsets and sound systems when there in there 40s and 50s ( not that i have anything against it just incase some on here are ) im just stuck in the middle and the roads round my area arent getting any better pplus sick of watching out for kurbs and avoiding things aswell as it being too small for me kids and the biggest problem the little toss pots getting up my arse in there stupid boy racer cars trying to race when ive got me kids in ...

i want something to waft home in and float over bumps n things and have tbh lost the modifying bug completly im looking to go to butlins 2/3 times a year so want a good boat to go down in instead of a go kart so hopefully the passatt is nice enough :)

all the guys on here have been great and ill still stay on as im looking for a cheap fabia for the wife to learn to drive in

dont get a diesel get the 3.6 4motion lol

FYP for future reference

haha yeah i just feel old and stuck in that age gap where im neither cool and hip as ive got gray hair if i let it grow and going bald lol and too young and have sense looking thinking i dont wana look like them guys lol

dont get a diesel get the 3.6 4motion lol

haha yeah well id love one but if i get this new job its about 40 miles per day so fuel a no go lol ive drove one and tbh there silky smooth

The Passat won't stay unmodified unless you're particularly self-disciplined IMO. More space in the engine bay for tweaks and too similar to your current steed.

Just try to settle for a remap and maybe some ARBs to keep it level....:)

Don't feel silly, usually the ones talking about speakers and sound systems and all that are a bunch of Chavs. Most of the time anyway, there's a balance between silly and sad lol not that hard to find. :)

I'm 21 and prefer a nice spec passat to a fabia vrs. I'd just never buy a 2.0tdi because of the long list of big problems they seem to have.

Once a modder, always a modder.. You never grow out of it.

True dat! :D

Hmmm I dunno. The same thing happened to me recently ... having driven a modified Fab for the past 5 years I was getting the wrong kind of attention, and not into the shows / tyre kicking any more ... I've gone for a sensible car that blends in with everyone else's. Apart from the numberplates I'm not changing a thing. I'm really enjoying the car.

I couldn't agree with you more grr666, I'm all in favour of any mod which actually improves real world road performance, safety or reliability over standard, but absolutely against the idiocy which actively detracts from that performance, such a list would include; excessive suspension lowering, over large wheel rims and especially bad 'tuning' mods which reduce MPG and increase emissions for an at best marginal gain in power.

Won't be long until I'm bolting a Sanatogen dispenser to the dash and getting a nice tartan

blanket for the parcel shelf :p

haha that's good :-D

You'll also need a seat cover made of beads and a golden retriever and one of those ancient aa badges bolted to the front radiator grille.

My Fabia got me back into the scene again, life begins at 40

Ide like a passat aswell but it would be straight on air.

I would love an vw eos with a scirocco front end that's it.:)
