PD 130 injector problem

Featured Replies

My A4 threw a code today 17669 cylinder 1 maximum range exceeded.

Been logging my injectors this sfternoon on VCDS, & injectors 1 & 4 are reading 127 all the time. It's had a new injector loom last year so I doubt that's the problem.

Anyone got any experience with PD injectors?

1. you could need new injectors

2. the loom might be fauty

3. has the car been remapped

I had to have injector one replaced last year and it was caused by a bad remap i had. The remap told the injectors to run at 120% when they can only handle 78% - 80%.

Hope this helps

I've been trying to add VCDS logs to this post but it isn't having it!

I disconnected the Van Aarken smart box, & got a totally different set of readings & not a 127 in sight in measuring block 023!

Cylinder 3 is showing minus readings all the time in mb 023 so I assume I either have 3 dodgy injectors 1,2,& 4 or just injector 3.

Was hoping mbames would of made an appearance as he knows so much about VAG TDI's.

I am here and reading, but not very familiar with the PD engines.

In my mind if the car is running, then you probably just have one dodgy injector - number 3. If you have 3 injectors which were broken, then I would expect your car would not be running at all!

The car is running ok, but has moments when it really goes like stink, & then returns to normal. It always pulls much better when it's not up to normal temp too. CTS reads 87 on vcds when the gauge reads 90 so nothing wrong there.

I'm trying to decide whether injector 3 is goosed or whether the ECU is compensating for the other 3 overfueling. I've found a local injector specialist who can supply the correct injectors for £190 each, which is half the price TPS quoted me.

It's going to hurt if I have to replace 3, & thinking ahead if 3 are goosed the 4th one probably isn't going to be far behind.

Well I did the injector lash adjustments on Friday, which made a noticeable difference to performance, but injector 3 still only read minus figures. Changed injector 3 today, & car feels even better. It's smoother & wants to rev more freely.

Wife has the laptop so I can't get VCDS on it yet, but I will update later.

Happy bunny, no more minus figures on injector 3

Hopefully it will run 100% of the time like stink now. I really should treat mine to some new injectors as I sure mine are past their best :-(
