PAS warning light on after driving over pot hole?

Featured Replies

Was forced to drive over/through a pothole by a crane driving in the middle of the road (Ta mate!), anyway after the big bump the PAS warning lamp came on. I have checked and topped up the fluid but haven't investigated further. It still drives as before, steering feels the same etc. What is the other end of the warning lamp even connected to?

Pas warning light?? There's no electrical components in the steering system as far as i know.

The pump is electric.

Orly.

Actually ignore me.

I maybe should have checked what forum this was in before I made that comment :D

Just had a look at my handbook. Hmm, what I thought was a PAS warning light is the brake fluid light. That'll be why I couldn't find any hint of ia PAS lamp on the wiring diagram! The brake fluid lights a worry.

Maybe the plug onthe brake fluid reservoir cap has come unplugged from the shock...

Or it might just be coincidence that it came on.

I shall have a look before I set off for work! Hopefully is summmink like that. The brakes felt fine on the way home too (20 miles of windy country roads and b roads)

could also be the key barrel sticking, the light comes on when the starter is swicthed as a bulb test, or the handbrake is a bit loose and not holding the button down properly.

Found the problem, the plunger (piston) inside the brake fluid resevoir had come out of the hole in the cap and was wonky inside. No contact with the hole/switch.

Thanks for the tips peeps, appreciated as ever.
