Felicia fun: Proof of Immobiliser?

Featured Replies

I'm picking up my fun tomorrow so don't have any paperwork with me..

I currently insure with directline so swapped over my insurance to the Fun and they have asked for proof that it has an immobiliser?

I've done a google and can see threads on people saying they have problems with it in their funs.. so am I right in thinking:

- Funs have an immobiliser?

- There may be something in the owners book (if it has one!) that indicates this that I can post to direct line?

I probably wont stay with them.. (i want to lower/change alloys)

And any recommendations on a good 'fun loving' insurance company?

Cheer folks :)

(I should add that the lady made no mention of it being CAT 1 / CAT 2 etc, just I needed proof of an immobiliser or I'm not covered for theft..)

Standard factory fitment as far as I recall.

We had a customer in a similar position with a VW Polo. I did a VCDS scan of the car and gave her a print out of it so it was obvious that one was fitted.

A CAT 1 is an alarm with immobiliser, a CAT 2 is just an immobiliser.

Yes it's factory fitted standard item.

Standard factory fitment as far as I recall.

That's my view as well. I'm now with A-Flux & IIRC the declaration was straightforward relating to immobiliser/alarm. ;)

Cool, I was thinking Adrian flux when I swap! Wonder what paperwork I will have with the fun!

They worked out quite competitive for us but with commercials you really need to shop around as the price range can be extreme between insurers!

Hope all goes well with the Fun purchase & look forward to piccys & hearing all about it! ;)

the fun has a factory fitted immobliser just like all felicia's

When you give the cars reg number to the insurer, they run it through their system, that comes back with the cars details, this should show the factory fitted immobiliser. Someone at the insurers isn't doing their job properly.

Tbh I'm expecting some 'fun' with them when I send the scan of the user manual to them.. (nothing else to prove it).

I will need to change my insurance when i lower it so I'll probably just chop over to footman james / some other more car-lover friendly service!
