Yeti Urban Wheel Arches

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I have a Yeti Urban and the passenger-side external plastic wheel arch moulding has fallen off and gone AWOL.

No problem I thought - call my local dealer (Citygate Colindale) and order a new part. But they said it doesn't exist! So took the car up there and showed the parts guy who agreed it had gone missing, looked at his computer again and confirmed that it doesn't exist. "Computer says no" springs to mind! Bizarre...

Anyone else had this problem and/or found a source of spares?

Thanks!

Paul

Thanks for that! I suspected it wouldn't be a case of just finding one on its own.

I would imagine these are the same as fitted to the Urban - I wasn't sure if the Urban was a UK dealer mod or came from the factory?

Tempted to make a warranty claim. When the car arrived all the plastic bits were very loosely attached. In fact I used a bit of adhesive to fit them properly...

If its fitted to the car as OEM spec you can order the part you just need to find a dealer or shop that has some sort of common sense when it comes to the problems with finding parts or part numbers.

My dealer tried to tell me that you could not get a Columbus fascia surround as the columbus can not be fitted to a yeti even though they had a new yeti with a Columbus sat in the showroom.

Find a VAG specialist service centre and ask them they should be able to sort it.

Or maybe someone on here has ETKA as I guess it would be on there.

Maybe a letter to SUK explaining to them about the loose trim too. It's unfortunate it was only a UK edition...But as you've seen they do supply the arches as a set.

I'm sure they can source it individually it might take them a little while to get in touch with SKoda CZ

Looks as if it comes as a complete kit... http://www.superskod...flares-full-set

Hope this helps! :)

Cheaper ones from Superskoda I have fitted on mine and they are superb

It sayes in the site "not for yetis with park assist"

I have gotten around that by drilling a hole in the plastic the size of the parking sensor and it works great.

Thanks guys!

To be fair, I was sent from the Citygate main dealer to their parts supplier (about 50 metres away, but in a separate building) called The Trade Parts Specialists. I presumed they're part of the VW/Skoda group but maybe not?

However, the guy there is on the phone to "technical" (I asked where "technical" was and he said Germany) but that's taken two days so far with no joy.

I might drop the car in to the dealer for a service and let them handle it, rather me doing it by myself. Trouble is I'll be without the car for ages all for the sake of a bit of trim!

We'll see what "technical" say anyway...

Hope this is of some help. It's from the instruction booklet that came with kit - not very good scans I'm afraid, but good enough to read the part numbers:
