I bought the above car in 2011 and I have been very happy with it until a situation today.

As I was on the move a pigeon hit the roof at full impact. The glass held barely until I reached the garage a few miles down the road. Shortly after arriving a hole the size of a football could be seen in the roof with the surrounding glass well shattered.

I'm just wondering has anything like this happened anyone before and what is likely to happen regarding repairing/replacing my car?

I now wouldn't feel comfortable driving the exact same car even if the panaramic roof is replaced as it is faulty.

Also, according to my Insurance the 'Panaramic Sunroof' ISN'T covered but the 'Panaramic roof' IS..

I'd prefer to sort this without going the legal route but will do if I have to.

It sounds to me like a very rare event. As for not feeling comfortable driving the exact same car, remember that the roof is glass, just like the windscreen. If a pidgeon hit the windscreen and broke it, as happened to me, would you feel the same about not wanting to drive it?

Are you full comp insurance if so it should be covered under accidental damage or are you trying to put in a Glass claim?

What makes you say the roof is faulty it sound to me like its damaged not faulty.
