loweirng springs / coilovers for a Favorit Forman E pick up

Featured Replies

As touched on in my other purchase thread ( http://www.briskoda....forman-pick-up/ ) does anyone have any suggestions for lowering springs or coilovers for a 1994 Favorit Forman pick up.

It appears to be different from the hatch or estate.

Spax don't

HPSporting don't

H&R I'm a waiting on a response but I think don't.

Any one else to try - especially CZ suppliers?

Thanks all.

Well the favorit springs are much shorter than the stock felicia ones on the front, so potentially you could just use the fav spring with a felly damper to make the front lower.

is the back end the same as a felicia pick or does it use leaf springs?

Thanks Tom.

I'll look underneath it tomorrow in the daylight, now I've got it home, to check the rear springs out.

Rear springs are coils. I'll take some pics tomorrow when I check whether the wheel pcd is 4x 100 or 4x 98

Are the spring combined with the damper or are the seperate?

not the best pic, but I've not had a chance to take the wheel off yet.... to take a better pic.

I'm wondering if it's the same set up as the hatch or estate....?

Yes it looks like the same setup as the hatchback model.

I popped in Jewson's in Oxford this morning and although the parts guy wasn't in, Roy the service guy very helpfully printed out the ETKA list and illustration for the rear suspension.

The rear shock is the same part number for the pick up and the estate (116 395 001) and the part numbers for the coil spring are one digit different for the spring and the pick up. ( 116 350 300, and 301)

the lower spring cup is listed as a single part number with no vehicle variant. (115 395 210)

So, if the shock is the same as the Estate then I think a lowered spring set for the estate will fit. The spring rate may differ, but i'm not planning to carry any heavy loads, and H&R list the same kit (35 mm drop) for the hatch and the estate, so by my logic the H&R kit should fit the pick up and we'll have to see whether being a pick up has any difference on the ride height, and the ride quality due to the spring rate.

Before I order the springs what's the view, does my logic seem sound?

Cheers,

Nick

Yes the logic is kosher, the spring has the same physical fitment, they will have different load rates and poundage though, I don't know enough about those to make a 100% accurate reply, it's trial and error time I'm afraid.

the main difference in the springs is the hatchback/estate ones are progressively wound, the pickup ones are linear.
