Bluetooth module 7P6 035 730 E

Featured Replies

Has anybody ever used a bluetooth module with the numbers 7P6 035 730 E or D. If not does anyone know of any reason why it would not work. It seems as if this module is one of the latest VW bluetooth ones.

7P6 indicates it's from a Touareg

Hope this helps!

Pretty sure I have the 'D' version of this in my Octavia with no issues.

Apart from not being able to have names displayed by first name first (at the moment: I believe I have a work around that I need to try).

Can't see why it won't work in the Superb as well.

Thanks fellas that does help thanks. It seems it would cause more problems than it would solve so I will leave well alone I think.

I was hoping to fix a few problems I`m having with my current module, I can`t remember which one but I think it starts with a "3" and ends with an "A"

It doesn`t seem to let me switch from rSAP to handsfree with my Galaxy S3. I want to try handsfree as I can`t get internet access with rSAP.

It randomly doesn`t connect to the phone so I have to play around to reconnect.

The battery icon has only appeared once, every other time there is nothing there.

I don`t need mediaplayer from the phone as I have enough music on the HDD but it, again, randomly switches itself on.

All minor problems but annoying

Let me guess. the module shd be 3C8 035 730A.

You will need to recode this module for AD2P streaming.

under phone setting, are u on handsfree or premium mode?

and what is the month/year of make? the older MFD doesn't support the ipod and battery icon so it will appear like a square box.

Thanks Sony, that's right my module is 3C8 035 730A

I don't need to play music on my phone through the Columbus as I can have all the music I need on the hard drive. But sometimes I find that, despite turning off media player in the MFD it randomly turns itself on. This is a pain because I use an app on my phone called BlueVPN to give me Internet access on my Galaxy S3 which I use for my speed camera database and this won't connect if media player is enabled.

The phone automatically connects using premium mode which is fine but if I try to switch to handsfree it just stays on premium which I wanted use for Internet access prior to discovering BlueVPN. Turning off sim access protocol on the phone is a bit of a pain and turns itself back on whenever the phone is restarted but I'll try it when I get the chance just to see if the phone does indeed connect with handsfree anyway.

The car was first registered in November 2010. I have once seen the battery icon displayed correctly. Every other time there is just a blank space, no box or lines or anything

uncheck bluetooth autoplay on the headunit and unpair the media player on mfd.

or recode via vagcom to remove the music streaming function

and select handsfree mode as the default mode in phone setting.

as for the icon, not sure if software update by dealer would help

Thanks again. Just been out to have a play with the car and Bluetooth autoplay is already switched off and mediaplayer on the mfd also switched off but like I said sometimes when I go to the car it has turned itself back on again.

I tried switching to handsfree mode but can't actually see that specific wording used. If I go to phone settings/ sim mode the only option I have is "change". If I choose this the phone disconnects from the car and reconnects in premium mode.

I tried it several times and on one occasion the battery icon appeared (usually its blank) and I also got another icon appearing above the word "premium" which was difficult to see but looked like an eye icon. This seemed to appear when I disabled three Bluetooth services on my phone. They were BluetoothSapService, BluetoothOppService, and BluetoothPbapService don't know what they do but the phone still connects to the car seemingly in Prius mode.

The car was serviced about four weeks ago at my Skoda dealer and I was told any updates would be applied as a matter of course.

It's no big deal as in premium mode the phone and car get on well its just annoying that some features that should be there are not and features turn themselves on when I don't want them to. I suppose it could just been down to compatibility with the phone, a Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE.

Change a phone..... iPhone will make the problem go away.

I put it down to phone and user issue. And not on the module and car :p

You're probably right but Apple, never in a million years thanks

Hy, I faced same issue when I connected my new Samsung Galaxy Ace that could not transfer phone book to car hands free GSM II system. Same happened with Nokia Lumia 710. Both Philips and Samsung service support admitted that their products respect BTh v 2.1 EDR protocol but not with Phone Book Access Profile.

Phone Book Access (PBA) or Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP) is a profile that allows exchange of Phone Book Objects between devices. It is likely to be used between a car kit and a mobile phone to:

allow the car kit to display the name of the incoming caller;

allow the car kit to download the phone book so the user can initiate a call from the car display.

For Samsung there was no solution so I returned the phone while Nokia promised to solve the issue with Windows 7.8 Mobile update. Too long to wait for an update that required an additional program to access my car kit.

I tried with HTC Desire HD and Nokia Asha 300 and worked just fine.

Mine works fine. I can see my phone book, I get SMS on the Columbus and Maxidot and it displays the incoming caller etc etc.

The only problem I had, before I discovered BlueVPN in the Google Play store was that I didn`t have access to the internet for my speed camera database. Also the car wouldn`t switch to handsfree from rSap or Premium mode. But that I suspect is because of the phone
