Gear change indicator..

Featured Replies

Anyone know of this can be turned on in a cr vrs with maxidot?

Not needed but I like gadgets.

From experience the system tells you to make changes at stupid times. I wish I could turn it off on the Sharan

I know when to change gear ffs - I could do with doing the opposite on mine.

I don't think it can be done

it is to do with the software in the ECU

It's never going to be 'ideal' as they're designed to improve fuel economy

Change up when SWMBO starts screaming :bandit:

If I change up when it said, it'd judder to hell.

Just ask your dealer to do a software update on the engine via VAS. I got the gear shift indicator automatically on the update.

not on the Vrs

I was told this wasn't available on my vRS by my dealer when I ordered it (had it on my previous 1.4TSI), which goes along with what Eddie has posted above. TBH even on the 1.4 I found it pritty much useless as it took not account of whether you were on a hill or not, so I don't miss it. Couple that with the short rev range and sprightly acceleration in the first few gears on the CR and I recon it'd be as much use as a chocolate tea pot anyway :giggle:

Funny even my 1.6tdi has this, strange your model doesn't have it.

VRS isn't for fuel economy :giggle:

should have a go faster icon

Manual or DSG gearbox, it shouldn´t matter
