My auto lights don't seem to be woking

Featured Replies

Do you think this could be a reason why the auto lights don't work? Would this be connected to the ecu not being coded correctly?

It will depend on what was fiddled. I can't see how changing the engine ECU would affect things like the auto lights. Was anything else changed like the instrument cluster or CCM?

Surely something would have to be done as the engine immobiliser is stored in the instrument cluster.

Re-programming the immobiliser, and so re-writing the EEPROM, is what causes the false malfunction error code in VCDS on the instrument cluster in retrofit maxidots.

very true, if the engine controller was effectively replaced then possibly. You would gave thought that they would have cloned the engine controller. I have to admit that I don't know a great deal about the immobiliser-engine controller interaction.
