Can someone with an Octavia vRS hatch go outside and measure the spoiler?

Width measurements of spoiler from edge to edge.

Trying to see if it will fit my Rapid :)

Won't you need the measurements of the fixing points. It fastens to Hatch/boot lid.

or do you mean front to rear

Pmd

Isn't the size on the Skoda accessories site?

Fixing points would be handy but need to see if my boot lid is wide enough first :)

Can't see measurements on website/brochure

Just measured mine, mounting point to mounting point 115cm,overall length 120cm,spoiler width varies as its shaped like a banana but varies from outside edge 20cm to middle width 15cm. Hope these approx measurments are some use to you.

Measured boot - edge to edge taking into account the curve - 117cm. Or 46 inches.

Hmm...

Have asked same question in mk1 area too.

Basically, I am being tight and don't want to pay £90 for one designed for it from superskoda and thought I'd see if a mk1 or mk2 would fit.

seriously, its going to cost you more than 90 quid by the time you buy a VRS spoiler, bodge it on to the tailgate, wreck the paint, have to get the whole tailgate painted etc, lol

Lol :)

I get your point, however I think either the mk1 or mk2 will fit. I like being different too :)

Wouldn't be bodged on, would fit the same as stock spoiler.

The Mk1/2 spoilers look better too :p

Are you still after the measurements? I'll check mine in the morning if you are.

Found this info on Elsawin if it helps:

With there fitting instructions:

Applies for vehicles with new tailgate Install the pin screws into the spoiler.

Position the spoiler in the specified position: a = 824 mm (measured from the window edge to the spoiler edge). Centre the spoiler on the tailgate. Press the spoiler evenly, until pin screw tips are pressed off in the paintwork. Make holes (Ø 6 mm) for screws on the points marked by the pin screws in the spoiler. Remove pin screws. Clean holes and protect against corrosion.

Thanks for the replies guys - looks like a mk2 spoiler may be a tad too big.

Have looked at mk1 spoiler and got measurements and its going to fit with 1cm either side spare.

Vrsphil - got measurements but thanks anyway :)

Stormchaser - great help :) will bare that in mind!

Actually, storm I don't suppose you have diagram for the mk1? :)

I'll look it up later:)

That looks like the one Harry has on his VRS ?

That looks like the one Harry has on his VRS ?

That's probably because it's an Octavia vRS WRC spoiler ;)

Might be a bit over kill - I only have 105bhp

Actually I heard they kick out more like 110 - 120 so will find out once its run in. A remap makes 125 ponies.

Hmm the MK1 Octy VRS on Elsawin doesn,t show a good picture spoiler wise.

Remove dowel sleeve -1- and clips -2- from the spoiler. Clean the seating area of the spoiler as well as the tailgate with universal cleaning agent -D 009 401 04- while observing the instructions for the adhesive cement issued by the manufacturer. Apply the adhesive cement all around the spoiler while observing the instructions issued by the manufacturer. Push the spoiler onto the tailgate (4.7 ±1 mm from the tailgate edge to the spoiler edge). The dimension 4.7 ±1 mm must be the same on the left and the right side of the tailgate. Secure position of the rear apron with adhesive tape. Remove any dirt present using a cleaner.

Looks or at least sounds like the above could be a lip spoiler, surely it's not glued on?!
