Felicia electric windows go down but not up!

Featured Replies

Hi! my alternator overcharged causing the ECU to fry, the Air bag light came on but has been reset, I've fitted an unlocked ECU and my car is now running again, but the front power windows only go down, but will not go up unless I disconnect the wiring multiplug from the window motor, and connect a live 12v feed direct to the motor? can anyone tell me what I need to replace in order to get my windows up again! Is there a controller hidden away somewhere? i have changed the power window relay, Many thanks, Tony

The electric window circuitry is very rudimentary on these cars, there's only a limited number of things it can be, have you tested the switch s working using a continuity tester?

Check fuse S18 (25A) white.

is this a magic spec windows or is it a bosh kit you could buy from skoda... this only has 2 wires to motor as i under stand all the electrics on the felicia...

Hi Guys! Thanks for the info! I have checked the fuse, as far as i'm aware, there is only one 25amp fuse ? number 18? I have checked the switches, and they do switch from the centre connection, to either the left or right connection depending ofcourse, which way you rock the switch, there are two other spade termenals at either side of the switch, which have wires going to them, but they dont seem to connected to any other terminals? The plug from the door motor has 5 wires, large red & brown wires and smaller diameter black -blue- and brown with black trace ! Its the large red & brown wires i use to make the window go back up after each attempt fails when trying to get the windows up with the switch! on the upward position a faint click can be heard from the door motor, but it does'nt try to move up, only down! I dont think the circuit has a relay? because i systematically removed all the relays but each time the windows still went down? Any suggestions would be very gratefully recieved!

PS my felica is a 1999 model 1.3 petrol

Do a power windows reset procedure as follows: with window closed:depress the switch (UP) for 3 seconds.

If not lucky, you might have dirty/corroded/blown contacts inside switches. Try to open and clean them; if not possible, pour some alcohol or WD40 inside and work them a while.

I would check the regular in the door as these are prone to snap on these stoping widows going up... the relay is in motor hence 5 wires mine is a kit skoda had old stock so only has 2wire and cable regulars..

Back to basics .i don't know the system, but you say they go down ,but not up . First port of call IMHO would be switch to see that it's working in both positions. Haynes says " window glass moves in one direction " -check switch . i have checked in manual for circuit diagram for this, but none to be seen .

Haynes don't have them in mine has a live earth switched live and relay behind glove the wires go in fuse box I fitted them.... oem

You're welcome.
