After a bit of advice I need a couple of tyre but have seen some federal super steel 595 in 195/45/16 what are people's opinions of the tyres themselves and has anyone got opinions of going from a 205 to a 195 on standard wheels

I have run 195's the difference in looks and handling is very subtle - both impoved. Would I do the same again? Yes!

you're only going to get about 10mm less side wall

45% of 205mm = 92.25mm

45% of 195mm = 87.75mm

so they won't look that different in a side on shot

Would an insurance company complain if there are not standard Skoda fit? They are only 1.5% smaller in diameter anyway, so speedo won't be effected too much.

I'd personally stick with 205's

Hi him i contacted admiral who I'm with and they said they don't need to know as its not classed as a modification
