Barely squeaked through my MOT and have a massive list of things to fix.

The easiest and cheapest to start with are the CV boots. I need advice on where to get them from. EuroCarParts has them for around £10 each but ebay has what appears to be identical ones for around £10 per pair.

What would you advise. I'm going to be fitting them myself so any advice is always welcome

I would say go genuine otherwise you may be redoing these sooner rather than later,

Genuine ones are about £25 each if I recall. It's an easy enough job to do, you don't mention wether it's the outer of inner ones, the inner ones need the whole shaft to be removed from the car, the outer ones can be done in situ assuming you can get the outer joint off the driveshaft.

I use stretchy cv boots that seem to have lasted ok, About £10 each including the cone.

Agree with this.Cheap ones don,t last and don,t have the correct clips.

Loads 80s cars came with cable ties out of the factory. Spurious ones generally last around 5 years so definitely not as good as genuine but not completely terrible for the money
