Central locking issue on the Felly!?!?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Didn';t realise our felly had central locking until in suddenly started workjing this morning! Owned the car almost a year too!! I'd blown a fuse in the fusebox so replaced that and now the locking seems to work!!! Just one problem though is all the doors unlock and lock from the drivers side key, but the passenger side doesn't??!! If i use the key in the passenger side, all the doors lock and unlock fine?!

What could be the problem here?? Faulty actuator, a rod broken/missing?

Would be nice to get it working again :)

This was the case with the diesel I sold.

The passenger power lock would do all the doors, but the driver's side would do all EXCEPT the passenger door.

I never sorted it, but in my predicament, I would suggest that the passenger side actuator was at fault. My logic is that I could lock all the doors manually via the passenger lock, but not remotely via the drivers side lock.

The chance that one of the rods has snapped seems slim, and because it works with the key from the pax side, this suggests that all the appropriate linkages work.

In your case, I would suspect the passenger side actuator also. Try a scrappie for an actuator, pal.

So you replaced fuse S16 (15A blue) and now central locking is working, except from passenger's side key lock.

As Jonesy92 mentioned, it is very possible that passenger door positioner is bad, the microswitch inside that is. Or the 5-pin connector contacts of that positioner got corroded.

Take out passenger door cover, check & clean 5-pin connector.

If you want to be sure the mechanical door locking is not having a problem, take out fuse S16 and operate door locks both from outside and from inside. If Ok, put S16 back, check central locking again, ask someone to look from inside if the positioner lever is moving properly. If still not working, replace positioner.

Worst case scenario, central locking control unit (located behind dashboard) is faulty. Let's not forget you had S16 blown.
