Engine Warning Light

Featured Replies

Ok guys; have got in my car tonight to see an engine warning light staying lit.

It's the engine electronics/management light and it's staying on. Thought it may be a coil pack but no power loss or misfire.

Any Ideas?

Cat?

Max engine revs exceeded?

Temp sensors?

You just need to take it to a dealer, they will soon tell you. Or, if you have VAGCOM plug in and see.

Sorry I can't help much :(

Cheers for the info guy's, took it to Claybank on Thursday morning before heading to sunny South Wales and Brian (service guy) plugged in his VAGCOM tool.

Apparently it was something to do with the coolant temp (a sporadic fault) so he resets the computer and no more light!

He told me it was nothing and not to worry, so off I went to South Wales for a couple of days, and no problems since.

Oh, coming back today hit traffic on M5/M6 Birmingham the temp outside was 38C!! Thank f**k I had air con.
