Considering selling my Audrey (Superb) ...

Yes, fuelsave is higher in cetane than vpower. Although you may not notice much difference, as vpower itself has a high cetane rating.

Take a look at Bluefin mapping. You'd need them to 'enable' your ecu to be remapped first (you go to one of their dealers), but once this has been done you can then revert back to your original map yourself with the supplied handheld machine that just plugs into the normal in-car port. You should see c.200bhp from your 170.

Your wheelspin may be your tyres. What do you have on Auds, and what do you have on the Audi?

Did look at bluefin.

Does state I can revert back by a switch - but is that still the case with mine 2010 Audrey?

I have got mid-range (Falkens) new from Feb?

And bridge stone on Audi - Audi only spins a bit if I really put my foot down.

Audrey had 4-5mm bridge stone before and that wheel spin too.

But as ppl said, I might have to change my driving style...

  • Have you looked at Parkers for a valuation or Glass' Guide? Realistically, and i don't want to upset you, but rather manage your expectaions.....you will never get £12k for it in a million years. Au

Wayne, purely for financial reasons, I'd keep hold of it. As mentioned in a few posts, selling so soon after you bought the car is basically financial suicide. If you don't NEED to sell, don't. Yes,

I must have been driving diesels far to long and/or play Sabaton too loud, but my superb has to be the quietest I have driven. Noise I suppose is a very personal thing.

Do what you think is best Chan - its your car and your money at the end of the day.

And I honestly concur with what you say about missing the petrol engine. The diesel is a completely different kettle of fish in terms of power delivery and torque compared to a petrol engine.

A remap will indeed give you more power but delivery of that power is still going to be different in the CR diesel compared to a petrol car. As for wheel spinning, a remap will not really affect it as the remap will deliver the power whilst you are already in motion rather than straight off the line (if that makes sense).

But just remember, if you are selling for £9k then PM me first.

Well, I have just decided...

I will put Audrey up for sale.

£12k it will be.

This is mainly the fact I have paid for myself the 2 years Skoda extended warranty,

AND the 2 years servicing (including MOT) in advance.

Will post details in the CARS FOR SALE SECTION...

As Marko says in 'Taken'........."Good Luck"

For a private sale, high milage vehicle that does seem rather expensive.

Maybe similar to a dealer price, but you have a lot more protection there if anything goes wrong over a private sale.

I'm saying this here, rather than on your for sale thread as I don't believe in spamming for sale threads.

It looks over priced to me, by about £2k.

Extended warranties are not as good as the standard one you get with a new car.

Dealers are selling cars like this, with far less miles for almost the same money.

Knew you would! - Now get back to the DVLA! - ha!

Out of interest, what did you shell out for the extended warranty...?

Direct with Skoda they wanted £800 isn, but i went through a Skoda dealer instead, who had to do an "End of warranty check" and it was under £400.

Lol

Might have to (back to DVLA).

I paid £20 for health check with Skoda.

Then £599 iirc for the Skoda Dealer warranty

Offer it at the local cab offices,

beware though get your money in full before parting with it, any cabby who wants to give you a lump and X amount over is always going to screw you over

U reckon they give me £12k in small changes?

I'm afraid there is more chance of a 747 landing in a kids paddling pool than you getting 12k for it bud

I don't think you are really in position to sell it tbh as it probably owes you too much to get out of

The one I'm looking at is newer lot less miles and not much more than the 12k from a dealer with warranty

Cars are a depreciating hole I'm afraid, lets say you paid 14k for it, the next day if you wanted to sell it it would be worth no more than £10k £11k at a stretch as a px

I think you'll be much better off getting your money back by using it yourself, lesson is don't buy unless you are sure you want it, I'm having this right now I have three in the frame but can't decide, the Superb is 3rd choice tbh but is so much better functionally than the other two.
