Warranty Claim - Bodyshop Query

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Have had word that my warranty claim for my Fabia's boot rust has been accepted. But do dealers do the painting themselves? Or do they outsource to local bodyshops? My Dealer is Henrys Skoda Glasgow.

Thanks

Some do some dont but it will have to go to a Skoda approved bodyshop so not much to worry about.

+1 on this......the only time you have to worry is if you're paying as the VAG approved repairers don't come cheap in my experience, which is no bad thing I guess, especially if Skoda's picking up the bill!

there are different rates for warranty work, I looked at getting my audi done, they would pay 60% towards it but it worked out cheaper for me to get it done elsewhere. It's quite bad how the VAG cars are suffering with rust, my mates Golf GT is really bad.

Thanks for the replies, certainly putting my mind at rest. If its an external bodyshop could I ask about other work needing done whilst its in?

Need to get some rust looked at on mine, my dealer told me to go to their approved bodyshop to assess the rust, so guessing they will have to do the work too as my local dealer doesn't do body repair.

I had my boot lid repaired under warranty, it went to a Skoda bodyshop at a local franchised dealer.

I asked them if they'd paint a few other bits on the car at the same and they said no problem. Since the car was already masked up and the paint was mixed they did it with a nice discount.

Mine was done by TPS, they have body shop which is used by VW Skoda etc.
