Featured Replies

What does this include? Also im having a real hard time getting it booked in to a skoda garage, everyone is fully booked for almost a month if i want a hire car meaning it will be 2000 miles over its service recommendation! Could i get it serviced at VW or Audi and retain the warrenty (although theres only 2 or three months left)?

Woud changing the oil and oil filter keep me going untill i can get it sorted?

sugestions please....

thanks in advance.

You can get it serviced anywhere you like as long as they use genuine parts and are VAT registered. You're not tied to main dealers of any description.

I got my 40K service done yesterday by those nice people at JBS.

You've seen the service sheet link posted by others but why not check out the handbook too (though prepare to be confused) - please note there are certain time related operations that may also be applicable on top of the usual mileage items.

My garage was booked up for two and a half weeks too. They said they'd allow one month/1,000 miles over the recommended service point - but I haven't seen that confirmed in writing anywhere.

Changing the oil and oil filter wouldn't be enough to preserve the full service history and the warranty.

I have three vehicles so not using the Fabia for some journeys is an option for me - and taking this week off work, though not because of the fabia's condition, has helped too. :)

You do not have to book your car in to a dealers and have the service done.

With the introduction of block excemption you can go where you want for a service.

As long as the garage is VAT registered , use Genuine parts and stick to the Skoda service schedual it DOES NOT affect the warranty at all.

I was a service manager for a Skoda dealer and then a warranty claims administrator in all I have worked for Skoda dealers for 5 years.

I have seen some really poorly service cars which was all taxis but warranty was not affected.

But the likes of us still have the ability to check for fault codes on there too.

The 40k service is Oil , Air , Fuel , Pollon Filters ( Spark Plugs if you have a petrol one)

Brake fluid is required every 2 years , so keep an eye on that one.

Also be vary weary of the oil used.

It must be ok for the PD engines.

Does anyone know how much commonality is there between service-replaced parts and fluids across the VAG range? Only there's an independent VW specialist near me that I've heard good things about, and have thought about going there more than once. If the parts they'd replace being VW instead of Skoda were still considered 'genuine' for warranty purposes, I think I'd go there...

You will find that engines throughout the VAG are the same.

All the PD130`s are ASZ the 150`s ARL.

The engines swap all throughout the group.

So will be the same parts too.

I have found this with servicing the group.

So yes is the answer.

So yes is the answer.

Grand. Thanks!
