Radio turns on when car is locked up.

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I have a 57 plate Octavia Laurent Clemant. Sporadically the radio turns itself back on once you have locked the car. So you come back and the radio is playing whatever you were last listening to. This has ended with a flat battery on more than one occasion so just removed the fuse.

I left it out for a while put the fuse back in and seemed ok, now gradually getting more common again.

I'm a bit stumped with this and don't just want to throw money at an issue that could be simple to sort.

Does anybody have any ideas what could be causing this as I can't find any previous posts with this problem.

Thanks in advance.

get the car scanned with VCDS that will show if you have faults

Is it the radio as sometimes a rogue SD card or MMC card can make this happen as the car cools down.

This.

I had a micro sd card and sd adapter in the bolero from my car being brand new, it did this 3-4 times in a couple of weeks. Put a proper sd card in and not done it since.

Think so long as you have a decent quality micro SD and adaptor you shouldnt experience a problem. Use a 4Gb Sandisk SDHC micro card with a Kingston converter in my Amundsen + and its great. Did have a problem with stuttering with an old 2Gb card but nothing since

If its 57 Plate surely it wouldn't have a Bolero?

I would say get it scanned

Thanks for all the help on this.

No SD card I'm afraid. It's the airstream model I believe.

I have borrowed an OBD lead from a friend as I also have an airbag light on. Hoping this will also pull up a fault on the radio.

Any recommendations of free diagnostic software at all?

Thanks
