Has there been a floor mat recall?

Featured Replies

Hi. We've had our new Roomster for over 3 weeks but the dealer failed to supply the floor mats we ordered. They've told us that Skoda Australia are not supplying mats right now because of a problem with the clips which allows the mats to foul the pedals.

Has anyone in the UK heard the same thing? Hard to believe a car can be out for 7 years and suddenly they decide this without it being widely known.

Hi RO00MY and welcome to Briskoda.

I haven't heard of a mat problem in the UK. The clips for the mats are screwed directly into the carpet and hold the mats very firmly. The mats in mine have not budged in four years of ownership.

My Scout was supplied with fabric mats, which I have replaced with rubber mats. The driver's mat is shorter than the passenger's mat on both sets, to ensure the pedals are not fouled. Mine is not DSG and there is a good inch of clearance between the mat and the fully depressed clutch pedal.

Sorry, I am unable to understand Skoda Australia's actions. Hope you get it sorted.

I have a Fabia (same front end as the Roomster). Mats are fixed firmly with no problems. Seems your dealer is trying it on to me.

Got a bit more info. They reckon that for some reason the kits have started coming with the wrong clips. They're waiting on the right clips coming from Germany now!
