Seat sensors - Passenger side?

Featured Replies

Trivial question raised by SWMBO the other day (after 4 years with the car).

Does the passenger seat have a sensor to detect whether it is occupied and boing the warning if the seatbelt is not done up?

Told you it was trivial...

Don't believe so,

The drivers side has sleeving over the steel cables, to protect the sense wire where the passenger side doesn't, that's on my 56 plate.

I remember a topic on this a while back and that seemed to be the view.

cheers

Thanks.

That makes sense and explains the lack of sleeving on the passenger side.

I shall pass the message on that Skoda doesn't love her as much as me... (She's doesn't get to drive my car very often).

Cheers.

Yep definitely just on drivers side. I thought it was a manufacturing defect when I first got the car and had a moan at the dealer....a bit embarrasing but I got my answer!

small things add up

I thought there was a problem with mine, then had a look and couldn't see the wiring. lol

a VW Golf has a warning for both seats, a bit like my Vrs has no brakepad wear sensor

It's the little things that help keep the costs down.

No excuses with the MkIII then!
