I know this is briSKODA but wondered if someone could tell me where to look...

Friends Golf 1.6 T reg, overheated, temp light came on so called recovery. When unloading from spectacle lift lots of sump oil deposited on road.

I strongly suspect that recovery company's spectacle lift caused the damage to sump. Anyone with ideas or direct me to a suitable Golf forum?

I think it's unlikely. To load/unload, you would have the lift head on the floor and push the car on and off. There's more clearance than for a sleeping policeman.
