Does anyone know the size of thread on a Favorit gear stick (where the gear knob mounts). Would be useful to know for a new gear knob - so I can get one with the correct thread rather than a self tapping nylon insert.

Not sure of thread size, but not all favorits have a thread, mine does, but my fathers (same year, 1994) just has the top of the lever tube crimped together at the top and the gear knob is a push fit.

The best aftermarket knobs, momo etc. don't use a thread, they have a steel ring with 3 grub screws that are tightened against the shaft.
