Change both bulbs?

Featured Replies

Front left dip light is gone. Just want to know before I buy bulbs, is it a better idea to change both? Or is it okay to just change the one that's gone?

Don't they come in pairs anyway? For the sake of 10 minutes you might aswell change it.

You can buy them in singles but i would replace in pairs.

Personally I change them singularly (unless I am upgrading them)… just be prepared for the other one to go in a few weeks time, this may or may not happen.

I would change them individually too. As said above, sometimes the other will blow in quick succession, other times it will last the life of the car!

The exception would be if you're replacing the bulb with one that's brighter than the original. On a previous car I had a dipped beam bulb blow and replaced it with a Philips 'Vision Plus' which claims to be something like 50% brighter than OEM. I was sceptical, but at night when looking at the front of the car you could clearly tell one headlight was noticeably brighter than the other, so I changed the other side to match.

Change both of them, and keep the one that you have right now on the car (the one that's still working) as a spare for emergency ;)

Will change both. Thanks all
