Soon to be a 'Superb' Owner

Featured Replies

Hi,

Well I have taken the plunge into skodaness and decided my new company funded vehicle will be a Superb 1.9TDi elegance tiptronic in Metallic Silver, best of all it has just been ordered and apparently there is one in the country already sat on the docks at Sheerness so I should have it by the end of the month  (unfortunately I have to have a normal sunroof not a solar one as that is what it has - bummer :thumbdwn: ). So couple of questions for anyone who knows:

1) Will it have split rear seats, I know this was going to be/ was introduced?

2) Does anyone know how many Superbs aresold per year in the UK

3) Has anyone with the Skoda Sat Nav unit managed to wire up an input for an mp3 player? Just needs to be a standard jack type socket

4) Would it be feasable to install the solar sunroof after I get the vehicle? I am quite handy at this type of thing and my best mate is a mechanic at a skoda garage, has anyone ever done this? Is the loom there? I asume it must be as the difference in price between standard and solar is only about

Welcome! Nice choice of car.

Welcome, u'll love the car, dad had one was so comfortable!

1) should do. This came in about 8 months ago IIRC

2) not many

3) the symphony has an aux in but you need a wiring adaptor to use it. I'd guess the sat nav unit will be the same but wouldn't swear to it.

4) what's a solar sunroof? :D

Thanks for the replies

1) Thats good news, in my line of work I do quite a lot of lugging PC's around, although the boot and back seats are pretty big already! It'd be nice to be able to fold down the seat back and stand stuff on there rather than on the leather :D

2) Thats what I thought, only seen 5 and that includes the demonstrator!!

3) Do you know where the wiring adaptors come from?

4) Its a sunroof with solar panels in so that the air con can stay on while the car is parked - useful at the moment!!

There are DIY instructions for the octy standard stereo here , and I'd expect the connectors on the back of the one you have to be the same , but would recommend checking first.

I have seen a link for ready made adaptors but I can't remember where and couldn't find it in a quick search.

As for the sunroof , that *is* a good idea. It doesn't take too long for my octy to get down to tolerable temperatures , but it can be a while before it gets as cold as I'd like.

Odd that a standard sunroof for the octy2 is 665 and the posh one for the superb is basically the same price at 675.
