Intermittent misfire?

Featured Replies

I have been a passenger in the lads Lupo today, he is a new driver and does not spot anything other than an empty fuel tank!

So, whilst being a passenger I notice the car has an intermittent misfire.

When we got home I have removed and checked all spark plugs, fairly new NGK R plugs, then checked HT leads, all ends nice and clean, leads are well insulated.

Checked the wires connecting the coil pack, cleaned them up and re fitted, followed this back to the fuses, all in nice and tight as are the relays, this then got me to the earth strap, cleaned and re fitted.

Test Drive resulted in the same intermittent misfire, back home again and ran VCDS, no fault codes or misfire logged, we then reset the throttle body in case it needed to be set correctly, it is new and had been fitted by the previous keeper, after all this we went out again and low and behold we still have an intermittent misfire or what presents like a misfire.

Anybody know of anything similar or repaired the same issue?

Car is a Lupo 1.4 16V, same as a Fabia engine.

Thanks for your help.

How is it under full throttle, high RPM?
