Hi

Does auto wipers start too move wipers if stalk is in Off position? Or I have to move stalk then auto wiper will vary the speed and intermittent period?

You need to move the wiper stalk to the first position up (Intermittent) and then adjust sensitivity of auto setting using the small 4 position switch on the top of the stalk.

  • Just an update on this.   We just had the laptop on silver1011's superb SE. Got auto wipers activated with one click. Just needed to untick the box that said something along the lines of "rain senso

  • Yip. Done in about 30 seconds flat. Easy when you know how. Big thanks Phil. Oh the wipers on the bus go whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, all by themselves.

  • There is no "AUTO" marking on the wiper stalk, even if the car has OEM rain sensor. The wiper stalk is the same.

OK, but when there is no rain any more wipers are stopped or run on minimum intermittent?

If there is no rain/water on the windscreen and you definitely have auto wipers they will not operate.  Just leave them in auto position.

Sometimes  if the windscreen gets dusty it can switch the wipers on to clear it but that is rare, think it’s the light being refracted into the windscreen sensor.

Thank you for fest response :)

I used many liters of water with stalk on bottom position :) now I know why they didn't move :)

Hello,

could you tell me, which Bit the "Rain sensor inactive" is?

Is it Byte 00, Bit 5? Unfortunately I only have OBDEleven not VCDS, it does not show me an explanation for the RLS.
