Indeed though it has done 118k will be looked after now :)

I test drove one a few years back before we got our fabia. I would wrap over the clock as it lets the dash down.

Good cheap and reliable buy though. I'm sure you'll tidy it up nicely.

Picked up a stainless cat back exhaust cheap, fitted a new front flexi pipe too as was rattling about, sounds very nice and looks good too :)

Next to attack the surface rusty bits underneath, clean them back and paint what I can get at

Another 3.3kg lost today and the result is a cleaner back end, without the hideous wiper :)

And some more dieting today 3.8kg lost, they have a big silencer box in the wheel arch for the intake system,

9feb4a6db787b97307536c8cc29ad246.jpg

Total diet up to date is

16.7kg aircon pipes and wiring

3.3kg rear wiper motor and arm

3.8kg airbox silencer in arch

So under 24kg every little helps :)

Funny enough going on a weigh bridge near end of week so be interesting to see what the coupe weights, book reckons anywhere between 1300-1400kg from various sources

Been on a weigh bridge this afternoon, weighted in at 1297kg with quarter a tank of fuel, not too much of a fatty :)

Been busy this morning did a few bits around the battery tray, removed a couple of brackets not needed and relocated the horn to the front of the battery tray instead of at the side, cleaned up the subframe and battery tray and hammerited them black, should hopefully not rust now anymore, wasn't too bad just lots of surface rust, fitted a new earth lead off the manifold and cleaned up the earth off the battery and new stainless bolts most places I took some off. Cleaned the surface rust off brake lines in the engine bay and have given them a protective coat aswell,

You get the idea lol

The reason for the horn relocation is because I want to get a BMC carbon airbox in there with a monster cold air feed going past the battery so need all the extra room I can get :)

I had two of those the same year and colour as yours did around 60k miles in both, only money spent was tyres and standard services. Very reliable and a great car. I hope my Skoda proves to be as good!

Stubby aerial is on, fitted a manual base ages ago as the original electric one was broken, took an absolute age finding a 7mm thread adapter to fit it lol

Ive always liked these cars , now needs black wheels though

Lookin well smart Trev, cant believe i pulled in next to you at the tip lol

 now needs black wheels though

That would absolutely ruin it.

That would absolutely ruin it.

What colour would go with black then ? Other than silver ? White ? A set of graphite wheels would look good or batman wheels

Anthracite on black is best bet

Yes, anthracite or leave them silver imo.

Yeah lol that was random, still needs a lot of bodywork though

Yes, anthracite or leave them silver imo.

Black wheels usually look lost on a black car, would love anthracite though like my last car
