so i've bought myself a fabia VRS, after being massively impressed in how well a mate's one went:

plans are to keep it sensible, i'm out of the "rudeboy" low stage, just want it to handle nicely and go really well, it needs to be sensible as i'm saving to move out, but at the same time, i want to have fun :)

Stage 1 map

lower it - springs or possibly coilovers - the original arch gap is MASSIVE

interior bits (cup holders, new headunit, spruce things up a bit)

space rear wheels out slightly

LCR splitter

and thats it

the big question is - WHAT FIRST? Map or lows?

Cheers

Chris

Brakes. :)

I want to keep it sensible. So I wouldnt do any more than stage 1 remap. Although the egr delete is interesting. Are there gains to be had out of it?

And would mine have a dpf?

No dpf on these. EGR removal is worth it for the little it costs.

I had planned to keep mine sensible, just subtle mods but the FMIC, full exhaust, bigger brakes and coilovers didn't take long to tempt me :)

First thing is the small bits that make it your own then think about the bigger stuff after that. Looking good mate im looking forward to seeing your progress.

having researched a few things, my first stop will be an EGR delete and stage 1 map, having found out that the fab doesn't have a DPF, the next bit that can go wrong is the EGR, with that gone, car should be even more even economical

been in touch with Motech Performance who have quoted some nice, realistic figures that will ease my worries about lunching the clutch or popping a turbo :)

just found that my engine code is BLT (on the cambelt cover), so will this work on my engine?

If you want to drive a sensibly modded VRS SE you are more than welcome to have a go in ours. Sort of try before you buy.

HAPPY DAYS

All SE Fabias were BLT engined which means the EGR delete kit you've linked to is the wrong one.

You, unfortunately, need the more expensive one

Get yourself a rear anti roll bar too which should stiffen up the sloppy body enough to match the extra performance before you take the coilover plunge.

well i've managed to sort out a Whiteline RARB kit for £110 used, excited about that, then i'll be booking it in for stage 1 mapping in a fortnights time :)

i now need to redo the grill surround vinyl, as with practice i've got a lot better and the carbons dont match

  • Author

fitted my LCR splitter today, what a transformation, for such a cheap part, also re-wrapped the grill surround so the carbon's match, just waiting for my Pasty boy badges to turn up :)

carbon wrapped the top becuase i cut the triangles a little too big to stop it creasing, but this looks quite good i think:

  • Author

Change the indicator bulbs for some Silvervision ones to lose the 'fried egg' effect :thumbup:B)
