Whats this part

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

On my Octavia 1 TDi, there is a black cylinder between the fuel pump and cam belt cover that disappears down beside the engine. Its about an inch or so diameter and appears to be mounted onto the engine below the puel pump by the belt tensioner I think. What is this part? I think its an engine pount but its like the highest component on the front of the engine.

Thanks,

Phil

Be best to link a picture if you could?

Its the damper for the auxilary belt tensioner.

Yes I have just come to that conclusion. The auxiliary belt tensioner strut. The lower bolt is loose. looke like a PITA to get to though.

Tis easy to get the tensioner assembly off.

Headlight is only four screws and you can get right in there then.
