Major stumbling block...

LOL

Don't get much bigger than this. engine in, driveshafts in, camber is MILES out on each side, plus it seems one outer hub isn't from a Fabia as the end of the driveshaft catches on it where it goes up to the bottom of the suspension strut. Trying to get to part numbers to verify this. Deffo different angles though. bloody annoying

So it might need the whole subframe & wishbones off the donor car, which I guess might have marginally different dimensions. Bloody Skoda designers making everything different sizes... How am I supposed to do this easily?

:rofl::D

dear oh dear, good luck J

maybe someone with a vRS could take measurements for you to compare?

Just need someone to say

"Yeah, you plank! Of course one vRS wishbone is shorter and one longer, than on a standard Fabia!"

Consider it said :P :P

It is quite a different car really, but then that has been pointed out a few times I do believe  - you'll work it out, got this far already

You aren't.

I believe "we told you so"

j did you by any chance think this though completely???? :P

You seriously thought that I thought, "Oh I'd better measure the wishbone/subframe geometry to be 100% sure before starting this" ??? Course Not! :P

Its just something to overcome thats all. What does make me puzzle a bit is the fact that to level up the camber, the entire setup of the wishbones/subframe needs to move to the left about 3/4 of an inch.... Which will be weird. At least using the vRS subframe will mean having the correct geometry in the first place.

Weird. I always thought Skoda would use the same wishbone/subframe system through the entire range... :o

nah-why would they do that? That would mean that the owners of the cars would be able to change the engines and everything from one car to the next easily instead of buying a new car!!

Another interesting thing accordin to the tech spec on the furby is that the RS actually has a slightly narrower front track to the Std furby but a wider rear-track!

As far as I know they do.

If its more than the subframe adjustment allows something is bent or your doing something wrong.

Didnt use te bleeding great tractor to pull the engine out did you..lol

The engine is in the right way round isn't it?

Engine is in perfectly - interesting to hear the vRS has a NARROWER front track... :) That must mean the overall subframe + two wishbones + outer hubs is narrower than on the standard fabia?

I do have a little issue that it seems the nearside hub is not apparently off a vRS fabia, as the driveshaft end binds with the upper part of the housing, whereas the longer driveshaft clears its hub well & truly. There do seem to be different numbers too. Both have a "7755" on them, but IIRC the good one has something like 30C, the other a big number "3" and a letter.

I don't think anything is bent, as the 4 alloys were sold off the donor car, so must have been in good nick.

Onwards and upwards!

Track can be down to different offset on wheels.

I will check tomorrow but im pretty sure all the frames and wishbones are the same. They certainly are on the Ibiza as I replaced a few wishbones when I was there.

 thanx buddy.

Everytime the butterflies start fluttering in my stomach when I worry that this whole thing isn't going to work at all, you're there with a swatter to splatter them all. :D WHACK! there's another one.

I'm sure you'll get it all sorted in the end.

If not how much for the hybrid and clutch. :D

First line -

Second line = :finger:

 :P

As a last resort both will go onto the PD100, but thats NOT happening! ;)
