I would suggest that you have heard wrong, I have been doing track days at Brands both car and Bike for about 15 years and I would say that they are well policed.

 

MSV who run the events ( same company thet does the sucessful How Fast events at Bedford Autodrome) are always professional.

 

Yes you do get the very very occassional idiot but in all the events I have attended I have only seen one bad crash and that was a couple of months ago when a TVR lost it all by itself in the damp.

 

At the same event there was an early Spitfire poodling round at about half the speed of other drivers but this was not an issue you drive round, everyone seems to appreciate different levels of speed and ability and drive accordingly.

 

A Briskoda event would be fun but I dont think the interest is there, driving in a mixed track day tho is really fun there are not many place you get the chance to belittle Boxsters, S2000, Elise, 90's Skylines and GT86's in your Company Skoda and get footage of 8 laps (just about) keeping up with an M3 coupe!

 

I would say its better to avoid novice only days as an experienced faster driver will know where & how to pass you safely with no dramas.

About 6 hrs or so from me then..

 

 Not 6 hours, I can get from the Dartford crossing to my house which is 30 miles further north than Oulton Park in 4 hours, so I would say 4 hours you will do it, MDMAY is coming to Oulton for the Gold Cup on bank holiday weekend, he is from down south.

 

 I have also done Brands for the truck racing in October, there and back in the day although a track day as well might be a bit much. Hope you can make it. 

I'm an hour away from dart ford crossing. If I was any further south I'd be French!
