Why was it a bitch?

I am running the standard box with a better air feed atm.

There is a metal water pipe that blocks access down there, so it's tight getting the hose in the gap, and then you have to hold the jubilee clip with 1 hand, and tighen it with the other, all while leaning over the engine and not being able to see what your doing.

It's great fun the first time you do it :D

Easy on a ramp;-)

metal pipe can be modified ;)

So I best get out the axle stands then!

I did mine with me under the car and my brother above. Didn't help that the CM TIP was too long at the turbo end and needed trimming down a couple of times to fit right.

Did it today and my god it was a ******!

Anyone in who wants to do it in the future here are a few tips ;)...

1/ Have friends to help! Make sure someone has skinnier hands!

2/ Jack it up! Helps alot

3/ Break it off in two parts. First part (the rubber) detach all the sensors and follow it down to the metal connection and remove the metal retaining spring. Easy done. Then with a friend with a flat head to pry it away as you pull up! Now for the second trickier bit (the metal pipe) there's a hex key bolt at the bottom of the pipe which is only accessible from under the car. Undo that and wiggle the tube off the turbo. May need the friend to pry it with a flat head.

4/ The TIP WILL NOT!!!!!! go in unless you bend away the hard-line water pipe. its got enough movement so just do it!

5/ The guy in Germany who designed the one way retaining clip is a ****! And this should happen to him..

2 mins onwards

then the rest of them should have a VW logo carved in their head!

take it off and do it again, its like wtf that was so easy :giggle: told ya should of modded metal pipe did you check see if it was crushing? mine was crushed down to standard size makes the hole thing pointless lol

Bits are pushed in, but because its the big bore all the way down it has a lot of air flow ;).

I put in the K&N filter today and it sounds glorious! She now revs up to 7,2/7,5 in 2nd before the limiter and hits 80mph!

For all Rtech mapped people...

I have now booked myself in but they asked if I was lowered. To which I said I was. They then said I needed to raise it up to standard ride height to fit on their rollers. Has anyone else been there and has a lowered car? If so, did you have any issues?

I raised mine as much as I could, both times.
