bypassing n75 valve on mk1 octavia vts

Featured Replies

Hi new to this site. Im looking to bypass the n75 valve as mine works when it wants to. Iv'e looked around and havent found a way to do it unless im looking in the wrong place. Read that people put mbc on and others saying it will blow the turbo and then arguing about it. All i want is a simple diagram of how to do it. Any help is much appriciated. Thanks. And it's a vrs not ****ty saxo vts like it says in the topic.lol.

I'd leave it there as a safety device.

If its playing up just get a new one.

If you bypass it I'm sure it will go into limp mode and that will be a pain in the rear. It may be a dodgy connection.

Just buy a new one cheaper than buying a new turbo when you bypass valve and blow it to bits

Hang on though, bypassing the valve won't make it blow the turbo, it will just mean you have only a small amount of boost pressure available, it's the n75 that bleeds off some of the pressure from the waste gate reference pressure, hence increasing the boost pressure under the control of the ecu by pulsing the valve, taking it out of the circuit will limit the boost to whatever spring the waste gate capsule has fitted.

edit: I will say though, as the others have said, leave it alone unless you know what you are doing, they aren't expensive to buy new from vw anyway, just fix it properly.

You with that technical mumbo jumbo lol

It does stop it going bang for reasons I can't explain. I read something in the last few month's research but can't remember it lmao

Yes you would get some rather strange fault codes pop up that's for sure.

The ecu uses it to cut the boost if it sees detonation so removing it and fitting say an MBC or the like removes that safety feature which can lead to melted things.

ok guys thanks. I was just thinking that if I did bypass it I would have constant boost as a 1 of my m8ts have had the n75 bypassed and he said it made a hell of a difference but he did have his leon running 260 at the wheels so maybe that's why he noticed the difference cause he had a lot done on his. I think I will just buy a new 1. what do you all think of the n249 bypass? I think that's what its called.

Leave the n249 well alone or you will indeed blow your turbo.

My n249 is long gone and the turbo is yet to explode

+1.

Did my SAI. N112, N249 and breather mods years ago.

Removing the N249 and using manual vacuum from Inlet manifold to DV is no issues.
