How many of you would be interested in a fancy box of tricks to allow you to do pimp things like the ability to open/close the windows from the key fob, the ability to open the windows slightly automatically if the temperature inside the car reaches a certain temp (good for black cars)

WRT your warranty, yes theoretically it would invalidate it as almost any mod would. They would have to be sure that it had caused the damage though.

Fitting would probably be with scotchlok style fittings so not too much permanent damage.

I've uploaded some pictures of my driver's door, taken during the re-trim, so you can see what might be involved. I hope the instructions identify the Fabia wiring colours because I doubt that they are common to all VAG cars.

as mentioned above its still a development thing.. ive got to take my door trim off, make diagrams of all the wiring colours and pin locations.. and test some voltages/readings when the central locking system is in various states of operation.. so it will work properly as the instructions will be made for the fabia

of course if anyone else already has a door trim off, they can take over if they wish as im having trouble finding the time to do this :(

To lock and close all windows it says press unlock then lock, why not jst press lock?

i mean, does the car still repsond to just lock, unlock? and with the fab vrs, unlock unlock (all doors)

it's because the unit is piggybacked onto the Skoda system and is coded differently so it does not interfere.

My old man's Octy 2 has a feature where if you keep the key fob pressed the windows and roof slide down or up depending on if your locking/unlocking the car. Very similar to if you keep the key turned in the lock on my Fab vRS. Can this feature with the key fob be added using VAG-COM?

Nope.

They use totally different controllers to the Fabia, as does the Fabia to the Mk1 Octy. If you can get this to work then it's a good idea, but I think the different wiring system (more than just wire colours) to the Mk1 Octavia will be a major problem, as that one is not compatible with the Fabia/Ibiza/Polo for this reason.
