I like the colts, a bit soft looking but then no one expects the 1.5 turbo charged engine packing 150bhp standard.

My mate has one with about 190bhp and it does fly.

slightly gone off them spent a couple of hours reading and apparently mapping them and modding them is a nightmare all reviews are very poor - but as your ate has one what are they like mate as first hand experience is always good to know

Surely the Fabia VRS is faster and still cheaper to run then a 1.5 turbo petrol

Just got my new job and it means my daily commute to work will be 14-15 miles per shift.

So with that kind of mileage say if just used for work 5 days would be on average 70-75 miles per week.

What cars would you guys recommend.

An old e36 325/328 and weld the diff. When you inevitably take the back end off it buy another one. You'd probably get 2/3 suitable nails for your budget.

That's probably the most fun you'd have for 2.5k.

I'd get either: ek4, eg6, atr

You'll never get a dc2 or ek9 for that money

Atr's are going cheap atm, due to 99% of then being well over 100k miles and starting to have problems now unfortunately.

Quite tempted ATM by either a civic type r - fiesta st or just a nice looking e46

Don't bother with a fiesta ST - you'll just be disappointed.

CTR's are pretty decent (I might be biased ) - ep3 is bullet proof and in budget, ek9 is not.

Integra Type R's - DC2 is in budget for a higher mileage one but are also bullet proof. DC5 wont be in budget.

Not very clued up on ATR's but are nice cars although can be a bit lardy.

What about mk4 Ibiza FR 1.8t?

EDIT - if after some sort of type r of relatively fast petrol - get an insurance quote first...

yeah i previously had a accord type r always fancied a ep3 - had a 1.8t cupra leon wasnt impressed with that the two cars i enjoyed the most are accord and celica 190]

Fiesta st is in the loop purely just because i quite like fords and like the interior and looks performance wise i know its under par.

is there any other vehicles worth considering
